Ray Douglas Deaton

Ray Douglas "Duck"  Deaton  born November 14, 1939 departed this life Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, Ky. He was 79 years old.  This was the life of a special husband, son, father,  great-grandfather & brother.  Doug was born in Leslie Co., the son of the late Rufus Deaton & Ollie Spicer Deaton.  Doug was a former employee of Duro Bag Co., in Northern Ky. , bridge foreman for the Leslie Co., Road Dept. & was employed by the Leslie Co. Board of Education as a bus-driver. He was affiliated with the Victory Mountain Grace Brethren Chapel.  Doug loved spending his time outdoors, he was an avid hunter & fisherman.  He enjoyed camping, gardening, 4 wheeling with his dear friend, whom he loved life a brother, Danny Begley.  Doug was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Ruth Coldwell Deaton, a beloved son, Carter Deaton, his parents, brothers, Alvin, Vernon, Charles, Winford & Edgar Deaton  & sister, Wilma Ruth Williams.  Mr. Ray Douglas "Duck" Deaton leaves the following relatives surviving: two  beloved daughters, Theresa Adams & husband, David of Hyden, KY. & Sandy Deaton & James Walker of Busy, KY., brothers; Eugene Deaton & June, Loren Deaton, Willis Deaton Dwayne & Mona Deaton, sisters; Thelma Jean Johnson & Cecil, Joyce Bales, Sheila Fay Hale & Howard, Cathy Riller & Larry, three treasured grandchildren; Tessa Pace & Dalton Blevins of Stinnett, Ky., Brian Adams & wife, Lindsey, of Perryville, Missouri, Byron Adams of Perryville, Missouri, six treasured great-grandchildren: Kayla, Mattie, Blane, Gage,  Hunter Ray Adams and Chloe Ballard along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

TIME AND PLACE OF FUNERAL SERVICE:  11:00 a.m. - Monday - December 31, 2018 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Ky.

OFFICIATING MINISTER: Keith Bowling & Eddie Boone Pace

TIME AND PLACE OF VISITATION: 5:00-9:00 p.m. - Sunday - December 30, 2018 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Ky
