Douglas "Doug" Ray Pace

August 15, 1939 — December 8, 2022

Mr. Douglas Ray Pace, 83 died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Stinnett, Kentucky, after battling melanoma cancer. Doug leaves his cherished son, Johnny Ray Pace and wife, Carmolitta of Hoskinston, KY,  treasured grandson, John Douglas Pace and wife, McKenzie of Berea, KY, beloved brother, Eddie Boone Pace and wife, Candice of Stinnett, KY, beloved sisters, Alene Pace Bowling and companion Thomas Sizemore, Stinnett, KY., Jean Rowles of Dayton, OH & special sister, Caroline ("Jib") Pace Brandenburg and husband, Larry of Stinnett, Ky.  Caroline had a genuine love and devotion for Doug, he enjoyed sharing  breakfast and coffee together with her every morning, girlfriend, Dena Collett, special friends, John and Steve Collett, also a host of of nieces and nephews, other friends and relatives survive.

He was preceded by his parents, Riley and Faye Pace, brothers, Fred Pace and Billy Pace & sister, Janice Pace Smith. 

Doug was born August 15, 1939 at Stinnett, Ky., the son of the late Riley Pace & Faye Hoskins Pace. He served honorably in the United States Air Force stationed at Fort Walton, Florida.  He was a self employed as a auto-body repairman for a number of years and a former employee of Chrysler Motors. Doug was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, boating & camping. After retiring he had a passion for animals and had run a Pet Store at Somerset, KY, while enjoying fishing tournaments also. Most of all he loved playing the lottery. Doug was a humanitarian and often supplied food and heating supplements to those in need.  He did this consistently without expecting any recognition, only thanks from the people he assisted.  Doug spent his formative years in Leslie Co., & had been a resident of Leslie County since 1976.

TIME AND PLACE OF SERVICE: 12 Noon - Tuesday - December 13, 2022 at the Stinnett Church of Christ, Hoskinston, Ky.

OFFICIATING MINISTER: Keith Bowling & the obituary will be read by Doug's niece, Tessa Pace Ballard

TIME AND PLACE OF VISITATION: 6:00 p.m. - Monday - December 12, 2022 at the Stinnett Church of Christ

* Full Military Rites will be observed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter # 133
