Doshia Ellen Baker, 82, of DeMossville, KY, passed away at her home on Sunday, August 16, 2026, after a valiant battle with many health challenges and the love and support of her family. Born on July 27, 1944, in Leslie County, KY, she was the fifth of nine children born to the late Beecher and Mildred Campbell Baker. Throughout her life, Doshia’s work ethic, reliability, and good nature, served her well as a model employee in all of the positions she held. She worked for Duro Bags in Covington, KY as a machine tender, for Sam’s Club as a sample hostess, for the former Twin Fair in Latonia, KY, as head of the stock department, for Wal-Mart in the Home Goods Department , at the Grassy Creek Grocery as a sales clerk, and most recently as a machinist at Pittsfield in Butler, KY. Doshia was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, DeMossville, KY, where she was active for many years.
Doshia loved her family dearly. She was a talented quilter, who gifted many with her incredible creations, and an avid reader.
Surviving to cherish her memory are three children blessed to have her as their Mom: Sherry Ellen DeWald, with whom she lived since 2010, Terry Foister Baker (Donna) of DeMossville, KY, and Jason Ruben Baker (Patty) of Taylor Mill, KY; three grandchildren who loved their Mamaw: Corey Grant DeWald, Rachel Nicole DeWald, and Trent Steven Baker (Leah); one brother Marvin Baker (Shirley) of Hyden, KY; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings: Barb Caldwell, Lowell Baker, Mark Baker, Evelyn Bridgeford, Phyllis Shelton, Don Baker, and Jerry Baker.

Visitation will be held from 12 – 1 pm on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, followed by the funeral service at 1 pm with Bro. Mark Boettcher officiating. 

Interment will take place in the Baker Family Cemetery, DeMossville, KY.

 Memorials are suggested to the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church
