THE OBITUARY OF MR. DILLARD JOSEPH
Mr. Dillard Joseph born May 10, 1937 departed this life on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky. He was 82 years old. Dillard was born at Yeaddiss, Ky., the son of the late Johnny C. Joseph & Matilda Boggs. Dillard was a retired coal miner, having been employed by Blue Diamond Coal Co., Leatherwood, Ky., for 25 years. Dillard was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, Smilax, Ky. He was an avid fisherman & enjoyed gardening, watching westerns and baseball. Dillard's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Jason & and great grandsons, Waylon & Easton. Dillard was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. Mr. Dillard Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Mattie Caldwell Joseph, a cherished, infant daughter, Linda, brothers, Johnny Joseph, Lee Joseph, Giles Joseph, Bill Joseph, sisters, Martha Lewis, Alice Day, Polly Childers, Eula Joseph & Lizzie Strunk. Mr. Dillard Joseph leaves the following relatives surviving, two beloved daughters, Hazel Ruth Joseph of Yeaddiss, Ky., Glenda Joseph Mitchell & husband, Danny, whom Dillard considered his own son of Yeaddiss, Ky., one treasured grandson, Jason Daniel Mitchell & wife, Kristy, two treasured, great grandsons, Waylon Daniel Mitchell, Easton Jace Mitchell, two special nieces, Mae Combs & Carolyn Wells, & a host of other relatives and friends.
