Derek Wayne Farmer

Mr. Derek Wayne Farmer born August 31, 1951, departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital, Hyden, Ky.  He was 68 years old.  Derek was born at Hyden, Ky.,  the son of the late,  Chester "Check" Farmer & Dorcas Howard Farmer. Derek was a retired coal miner, having worked in the industry for 38 years.  He was an avid deer & turkey hunter & enjoyed 4 wheeling.  Derek's greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved son, Greg & his treasured grandson, Tyson "T.J." Farmer.  Derek was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., residing at Stinnett, Ky., at the time of his death.  Mr. Derek Wayne Farmer was preceded in death by his parents; Chester & Dorcas Howard Farmer, brothers; Melvin Farmer, Cova Chappell & sister; Beulah Wilson.  Mr. Derek Wayne Farmer leaves the following relatives surviving; his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Janice Mills Farmer, beloved son; Gregory Len Farmer & Donna of Stinnett, Ky., two brothers; John A. Farmer of Harlem, Georgia, Carl "Spike" Farmer & Claudia of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, one sister; Loretta Wilson of Harrodsburg, Ky., one treasured grandson; Tyson "T.J."
