Denver Lewis, Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Bledsoe, Kentucky, on August 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old  Denver was .born on December 7, 1946, in Leslie County, Kentucky, he was a life-long resident of Leslie and Harlan Counties where he dedicated much of his life.Denver had a distinguished career as a retired coal miner, contributing significantly to his community and the industry. He was also a devoted member of the Pine Mtn. Church of God of the Apostles Doctrine where he found spiritual fulfillment and community support.  Denver's faith was the cornerstone of every aspect of his life, Denver was known for his love of fishing and gardening, pursuits that brought him joy and relaxation. However, his proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly the time he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and the newest addition to his family, his great-grandson, Carson.  He delighted in every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Denver is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Townsend Lewis, to whom he was united in marriage to on June 28, 1975. . He leaves behind two devoted sons, Everett Lee Denniston & Beth of Georgetown, KY, and Michael Wayne Lewis & Kristina May of Bledsoe, KY, as well as one loving daughter, Veronica Hensley & Bill of Bledsoe, KY. Also grieving his loss are his brother, Kenneth Lewis & Loretta of Helton, KY, and his five sisters: Carol Jean Morris & Phil of Lexington, KY, Irene Lewis of London, KY, Martha Reynolds & Randy of Knoxville, TN, Mary Carter & Michael of Lexington, KY, and Lorene Gross & Matt of Nancy, KY. In addition to his immediate family, Denver is also survived by six grandchildren: Brooklyn Stallard & Gabe, Everett K. Denniston, Blake Hensley, Brody Denver Hensley, Kanaan Andrew Denniston, Aubree Hensley, and one great-grandchild, Carson Stallard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver Lewis, Sr. and Gracie Turner Lewis, whose legacy lives on through their son and the family he cherished so deeply.

Denver Lewis, Jr. will be remembered lovingly by his family and friends for his warmth, dedication to family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His spirit will continue to live on in the memories shared by all who loved him.

Funeral services for Mr. Denver Lewis, Jr. will take place at 1:00 p.m.-Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Pine Mtn. Church of God of the Apostles Doctrine located at Bledsoe, KY. with Kermit Creech officiating.  Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. -Monday, Aug. 18, 2025 at the church 

Interment will follow in the Lewis & Boggs Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY following the funeral service on Tuesday.  The following will serve as pallbearers: Michael Lewis, Blake Hensley, Brody Hensley, Bill Hensley, Kanaan Denniston & Everett Lee Denniston.
