Denver Colwell

Mr. Denver Colwell born on April 8, 1939 departed this life on Aug. 26, 2019 at the age of 80 years old. He was born at Hazard, KY the son of the late Wilson Colwell and the late Marie Campbell Colwell. Denver had a very distinguished career in business.  He was the former owner and operator of Colwell Office Supply Company. Denver had an associate degree & was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Kathy Lewis  Colwell on Aug. 29, 1980. Denver was a member of the Wooton Evangelical Presbyterian Church and had been an Elder on the church session. Denver was a resident of Leslie County, KY for the past 35 years. He enjoyed mowing his yard, watching Fox News and being involved in the lives of his family members especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Marie Campbell Colwell. Denver leaves surviving the following relatives; loving and devoted wife, Kathy Lewis Colwell of Smilax, Ky, two beloved sons: Jarod Scott Colwell of Smilax, Ky.,  Kent Colwell & Jessica of Wooton, KY, two beloved daughters: Jocelyn White & Russell of Smilax, Ky, Laura Villanueva & Carlos of Panama City, FL., eight treasured grandchildren: Joseph Haydon, Melissa Villanueva, Sadie Colwell, Taylor Colwell, Emily White, Cole White, Matt White and Amber White. FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 P.M. -Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home at Hyden, KY

VISITATION: 6:00 p.m. - Friday, August 30, 2019 at the funeral home chapel.

OFFICIATING MINISTER: Rev. Greg Whitaker

PLACE OF INTERMENT: Larkin Lewis Cemetery at Smilax, KY
