Delbert Craig, a beloved figure known for his friendly and outgoing personality, passed away on July 25, 2025, in Hyden, Kentucky. He was born on May 2, 1969, in Burlington, Iowa. His journey through life was marked by a profound dedication to his family and friends, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and camaraderie.

Delbert’s approach to life was characterized by his passion for building and repairman work, showcasing both his creativity and technical skills. He found joy in crafting and fixing things, which became a treasured hobby that reflected his significance in the lives of those around him.

His proudest accomplishments were rooted in his roles as a husband, father, and friend. Delbert cherished his family and was a loyal companion, loved deeply by those who had the pleasure to know him. He is survived by his cherished wife, Dawn Craig, his sons: Jarrod Craig, Clayton Craig, Sammy Craig, Shaun Wright, and Richard LaVelle. His daughters: Erin Craig Duke (Trevor), Finley Muse, Jasmine LaVelle, and Ophelia Craig, to carry forward his spirit and legacy. He is also survived by his father, Delbert Craig Sr., his brother, Roger Johnson, and his sister, Debbie Crawford.

Delbert was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Francek, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.
