David Jones

We are heartbroken to announce the sun has set on David Jones, 53, at his home in Confluence, KY , surrounded by love on February 23, 2023. He was the best timber cutter known and enjoyed the "crash" of the trees, the freedom it gave him being outside doing what he loved. He enjoyed fishing, digging ginseng, hunting and growing an amazing garden, telling good jokes that definitely made you laugh. He was the grandson of the late Gusty & Bessie Eversole. The only thing he loved more was his family. He leaves behind a devoted wife, Marie Jones of 37 years. From the first moment until the last they were side by side. Two daughters he loved and had great pride in, Kimberly "Kimmy" Smith & (Shawn) of Mozelle, KY and Samantha "Sammy" Jones & (Corey Shultz) of VA. He never failed to be there for them and instilled the values of family, hard work, and the importance of being a good person. Three cherished grandchildren, Riley Thomas, Kathlene Thomas and Aurora Ponte, who he made a point of showing the depth of a Papaw's love. he leaves behind a loving mother, Mary Rutherford who brought him into this world to smile at us , now we must kiss him goodbye. He was the son of the late Robert Jones. He had a host of other relatives and friends. David's love not only impacted the lives of his close family, but everyone around him.
