Clifford Lewis

Mr. Clifford Lewis born April 02, 1945 departed this life on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky.  He was 75 years old. He was born at Lewis's Creek, KY., the son of the late John C. Lewis and the late Emily Turner Lewis. Clifford was a retired coal miner (mine foreman) and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Clifford was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed, but our memories of him will live on in our hearts forever. He was an excellent story teller with an infectious laugh, a devoted husband and father and a dedicated man of God and his church where he has attended services for 38 years. He enjoyed coon hunting, gardening, camping, playing guitar and singing, but was known for his championship horseshoe playing.  Clifford enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John C. and Emily, his first wife & mother of his children: Kathy Jean Halloway Lewis, three brothers: Paul, Clevon and Hurlen Lewis, one sister: Evelyn Baker. He leaves surviving the following relatives his loving and devoted wife: Bonnie Roberts Lewis of Stinnett, KY,  three daughters: Yvonne Sue Joseph & Wayne of Yeaddiss, KY, Barbara Ann Mitchell & Stanley of Smilax, KY, Veronica Baker & Mack of Coon Creek, KY, one son: Anthony Lewis of La Grange, KY, step-daughter; Theresa Sullivan & Eugene of Corbin, Ky.,  seven sisters: Vernell Lewis of Stinnett, KY, Elizabeth Roberts & Victor of Stinnett, KY, Lois Brock & Johnny  of Stinnett, KY, Faye North & James of Yeaddiss, KY, Joyce Lewis of Knott County, KY, Cinda Joseph of Wooton, KY,  Marthy Woods of Texas,   two brothers; Bill Lewis of Bledsoe, KY and Eugene Lewis of Dayton, OH. Clifford is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
