Clayton Napier, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington at the age of 85. Clayton was born May 5, 1934 in Leslie Co., KY., the son of the late, Joe Byrd Napier & Fannie Wooton Napier. Clayton had been a resident of East Bernstadt for the past 17 years. He had lived most of his life in Leslie Co. Clayton served honorably in the U.S. Army in 1956-1962. By occupation he was owner & operator of Frontier Coal Co. & Cindall Coal Co. Clayton was affiliated with the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church in Hyden, KY. He enjoyed going to flea markets, being outdoors, 4-wheeling, fishing, cookouts & gardening. He especially loved his farm.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joe Byrd Napier & Fannie Wooton Napier, a special sister, Jessie Caldwell, a special grandson, Justin Henley & his loving & devoted wife, Hazel Burns Napier. He is survived by 3 children, Linda F. Henley, Ohio, Ronald Gene Napier, East Bernstadt, KY. & Tina Napier Maggard & husband, James, sister, Freeda Hoskins, London, KY. Also 5 treasured grandchildren, Cindall Feltner Sizemore & husband, Timmy, Erica Hoskins & husband, Charles, James Cox & wife, Brittany, Clay Andre Cox & Eric Henley & 4 treasured great grandchildren, Karley Sizemore, Taylen Cox, Graydon Hoskins & Corah Cox.
Funeral: Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
**Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133**
Ministers: Rev. Roger Wolfe & Rev. Jack Short
Interment: Laurel Fork Cemetery, Hyden, KY.
Pallbearers: James Cox, Clay Cox, James Maggard, Charles Hoskins & Timmy Sizemore
Visitation: Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
