Billy Collett

Billy Collett of Essie passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, KY. at the age of 80. Billy was born July 4, 1938 at Roark, KY., the son of the late, John & Virgie Collett. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co.  Billy was a self-employed plumber & electrician. Billy was an avid fisherman & hunter especially loved squirrel hunting. Billy's greatest joy came from spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, John & Virgie Collett, 2 brothers, Roy Collett & Barry Collett, a beloved granddaughter, Sara-Beth Collett, & daughter-in-law, Teresa Moberly Collett, the mother of William David Collett.  He leaves the following relatives surviving, loving & devoted wife, Minnie Bowling Collett of Essie, KY., 3 beloved sons, Chester Collett & wife, Rachel of Roark, KY., David Collett & wife, Sherie of London, KY. & William David Collett & wife, Sharlene of Essie, KY., 1 beloved daughter, Carol Sue Peters & husband, Kenny of Roark, KY., 2 brothers, Bige Collett & wife, Ruth Ann of Big Creek, KY. & Ricky Collett & wife, Donna of Annville, KY., 1 sister, Nancy Smith & husband, Raymond of Annville, KY., sister-in-law, Edith Smith Collett of Annville, Ky., 9 treasured grandchildren & 15 treasured great grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.

Funeral: Sunday, February 10, 2019 @ 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.

Ministers: Rev. Reed Brock & Rev. Ralph Brown

Interment: Collett Cemetery, Essie, KY.

Pallbearers: Tyson Collett, Tryston Collett, Chase Collett, David Collett, Tyler Collett, Kenneth Peters & Kyle Peters
