Bessie Ann Rice

Mrs. Bessie Smallwood Rice of Berea, Kentucky, born September 19, 1963 departed this life on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the St. Joseph Hospital of Berea, Ky. She was 59 years old. Bessie was born at Hyden, Ky., the daughter of the late Clarence Smallwood and Lucille Bray.  Bessie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.  Bessie was a member of the Pentecostal Church and former resident of Leslie Co. She had been a resident of Berea, Ky. for the past seven years. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents and her loving and devoted husband, Lester Rice.  Mrs. Bessie Ann Smallwood Rice leaves the following relatives surviving: one beloved son, Randy Wayne Rice of Canton, Georgia, one cherished daughter, Heather Collen Fowler of Gainesville, Georgia, one brother, Clarence Wayne Smallwood of Florida, one sister, Patricia Ann Hayes and Dennis of Georgetown, Ky., three treasured grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Rice, Kaleb Eugene Fowler, Kelsey Ann Fowler and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
