Mrs. Bessie Lou Harris passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at her residence. She was 87 years old. Bessie was born January 6, 1934 in Whitley Co., KY., the daughter of the late, Charlie Sawyers and Mary Osborne Sawyers. She had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. Bessie was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Couch's Fork Church of God at Bear Branch, KY. Bessie enjoyed sewing, yard-work, music and going to Church. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Bessie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, loving and devoted husband, William Harris, beloved son, David Wayne Harris, treasured grandson, Spencer Ray Harris, son-in-law, David Woods, brothers, Colston, Tommy, Woody and Charles Sawyers and sisters, Sarah Sizemore, Mary Bell Lovins and Cora Sawyers. She leaves the following relatives surviving; beloved sons, William Harris, Jr. (Patricia), Middlesboro, KY., Benny Harris (Betty), Bear Branch, KY., Roger Harris (Glenda), Hyden, KY. and Charles "Hoss" Harris (Mary Gail), Hyden, KY., beloved daughters, Brenda Lawson (Tony), Middlesboro, KY., Norma Harris, Hyden, KY. and Marie Harris Woods, Hyden, KY., brother, Billy Sawyers (Janet), Harison, Ohio, sister, Lucy Causey (Sam), London, KY., 13 treasured grandchildren, Anthony Lawson, Russell Lawson, Jamie Campbell, Benny Harris, Sabrina Matthews, Josh Baker, Ricky Harris, Roger Harris, II, Danielle Owens, Bryant Harris, Byron Woods, Tate Harris and Olivia Harris, 20 treasured great grandchildren and one great great grandchild to be born and special friend, LeRoy Mays. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.
Funeral: Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Couch's Fork Church of God at Bear Branch, KY.
