The obituary of Ms. Anna Mae Howard.

Ms. Anna Mae Mosley Howard, age 89, departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, KY. She was born on February 8, 1932, at Hyden, KY, the daughter of the late Chester Howard and the late Flora Mosley Howard.  Anna was formerly employed by General Motors where she had worked for many years before retiring.  Anna was affiliated with the Church of God and had been a resident of Leslie County for the past 30 years having moved here from Ohio. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening and was  very proficient at both. Anna enjoyed playing the Kentucky Lottery and was successful with it as well. She was a very independent, hard working lady who enjoyed life to the fullest. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Dennis and Manuel Howard, one sister: Gladys Leddington, and by one son: Ricky Collette. She leaves surviving the following relatives: one loving and devoted daughter: Jessie Calder  & (Michael) of Corbin, KY, one devoted and loving son: Burchell Collette of Ormond Beach, FL, seven grandchildren: Travis Collette, Nicole Parr & (Brandon), Ryan Brock, Melissa Brooks, Carmen Brock, Kelly Mowen and Casey Stidham and also by three great grandchildren. Anna is survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. The family would like to express their special thanks to Debbie Gross, Mayor Carol Joseph and the staff of the Hyden City Hall,  Hyden Post Office workers and the Staff at the Walker Funeral Home for the kindness and assistance extended to Anna.
