The Obituary of Mrs. Andrea Kilburn Melton

        Mrs. Andrea Kilburn Melton born April 24, 1935 departed this life on Friday, September 17, 2021 at her residence.  She was 86 years old.  Andrea was born in Perry Co., Ky., the daughter of the late Carter Kilburn & Eliza Melton Kilburn.   Andrea spent her formative years in Leslie Co. & attended Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, Ky. Andrea was united in marriage to Elbert Melton on November 15, 1955.  She taught at a one room school located at Bailey Branch, Wooton, Ky.  Andrea resided in Michigan for a few years & moved back to Leslie Co. in 1962.     Andrea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & homemaker.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking & working in her flowers. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren and great, grandchildren. Andrea was a devoted member of the Wooton Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Wooton, Ky.,  Mrs. Andrea Kilburn Melton was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband; Elbert Melton, beloved son; Elbert Melton, Jr., treasured grandson; Jordon Melton, brother; Carlin Kilburn & sister; Pam Kilburn.  Mrs. Andrea Kilburn Melton leaves the following relatives surviving; beloved sons; Michael Wade Melton & Jean of Wooton, Ky., Doug Melton and Betty of Wooton, Ky., Carter Allan Melton & Samantha of Wooton, Ky., Randy Melton & Kari of Wooton, Ky., beloved daughters; Phyllis Shepherd & Fred of Wooton, Ky., Shannon Caudill and Darrell of Wooton, Ky., cherished brothers; Jeffery Kilburn & Rhoda of Wooton, Ky., Clinton Kilburn & Ann of Wooton, Ky., cherished sisters; Phyllis Kilburn of Hazard, Ky., Connie Minix and Victor of Louisa, Ky., special sister-in-law, who was like a sisters; Polly Doody, treasured granchildren; Brittany Maggard & Rocky, Megan Barger & Samuel, Bryan Johnson & Katie, Felicia Woods & Byron, Kourtney Melton & fiance, Marc Duff, Tanner Melton, Cody Melton, step-grandchildren; Adrian Shepherd and Amber, Crystal Evans & Scott, treasured great grandchildren; Kennady, Aubrey, Kayleigh Jo, Brantlee Reed, Bentlee Luke, Kash, Bo, Aidan & a host of other relatives and friends.
