Mr. Lenuel Stidham born August 28, 1924 departed this life on March 05, 2008 at theEast Kentucky Veterans Center, Hazard, Ky. He was 83 years, 6 months, and 6 days old. Lenuel was born in Blue Grass Hollow, Perry Co., Ky., the son of the late Harrison Stidham and Mallie Lewis Stidham. Lenuel was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired coal miner and masonry worker. Lenuel was a member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ, Hyden, Ky., and enjoyed carpentry and working with his hands as hobbies. He was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., living at 111 Shadow Drive at the time of his death. Mr. Lenuel Stidham was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Stidham and Mallie Lewis Stidham, and four brothers, Rex, Darrell, Gene, & Ed Stidham. Mr. Lenuel Stidham leaves the following relatives surviving :his wife, Jewel Stidham of Hyden, Ky., three daughters, Teresa Asher and Dale of Hyden, Ky., Sonya Stidham of Richmond, Ky., Robin Gambill and husband, David, of Hyden, Ky., two brothers, David Stidham and wife, Jean, of Hyden, Ky., Kenneth Stidham and wife, Eunice of Indiana, & two sisters, Dorothy Pace of Hyden, Ky., and Gladys Bowling of London, Ky., seven Grandchildren, Shane, Dayton, Kristy, Shanna, Sheena, Rachel, Paige, and six Great Grandchildren, Morgan, Dalton, Austin, Taylor, Sarah and Kira , and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his death. The funeral service for Mr. Lenuel Stidham will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. - Saturday - March 08, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Caldwell, Craig Melton & Hobie Hayes officiating. The interment will follow in the Grassy Gap Cemetery located at Hyden, Ky., with full military rites observed by Leslie County D.A.V. Chapter # 133 of Hyden, Ky. Friends may call for visitation after 6:00 p.m.- Friday at the funeral home.
