The Obituary for Mr. John Simpson, Jr. Officiating Minister: Rev. Ronnie Lee Melton Mr. John Simpson, Jr. was born on June 17, 1947 at Wooton, Ky., the son of the late, John & Sally Hoskins Simpson. He passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center in Hyden, Ky. at the age of 64 years, 5 months & 19 days. John had been a resident of Leslie Co. for the past 5 years. By occupation he was a former commercial-long haul truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & visiting with friends. He was preceded in death by: Parents: John & Sally Hoskins Simpson; Son: Joey Simpson; Brothers: William Kenneth Simpson, James Simpson, Dudley Simpson, George Simpson & Wiley Joseph; Sister: Ruth Fouts. John leaves the following relatives surviving: Son: James Edward Simpson of Louisville, Ky.; Step-Son: Terry North; Daughter: Sarah Wells of Louisville, Ky.; Sisters: Brenda Hannah of Texas & Martha Bailey of Confluence, Ky. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service will be on Sunday ~ December 11, 2011 at 2:30 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Lee Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Simpson Family Cemetery at Wooton, Ky. Visitation will be on Sunday ~ December 11th at 12:00 Noon until time of funeral at the Funeral Home Chapel.
