Mr. Johnny Collins born February 7,1932 departed this life on March 7, 2008 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 0 days old. He was born at Isom, Kentucky the son of the late Silas Collins and the late Effie McPherson Collins. By occupation he was a retired coal miner and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. Mr. Johnny Collins was a member of the Pentecostal church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents: Silas and Effie Collins; one son: Larry Dean Collins; four brothers and four sisters. He leaves surviving the following relatives. Wife: Pauline Napier Collins of Stinnett, Ky. Two Sons: Keithell Collins & Dorothy of Hazard, Ky. Johnny Delane Collins of Indiana. Five Daughters: Maxine Sauer & Mike of Indiana. Martha Moran of Whitesburg, Ky. Laura Jean Kiser & Scott of McDowell, Ky. Nancy Collins & Bradley of Whitesburg, Ky. Wendy Collins & Tim Collett of Stinnett, Ky. Three Brothers: Clay Collins of Stinnett, Ky. Silas Collins of Whitesburg, Ky. Michael Collins of Pathfork, Ky. One Sister: Airlene Jarrell of Hazard, Ky. Also survived by 23 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Collins will be held at 1:00 p.m. - Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie, Kentucky with Rev. Fred Collett, Rev. John Pugh, Rev. Everett Eads, Rev. Jerry Holland and Rev. Jerry McKinley Holland officiating. Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday -March 10, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, at Hyden, Ky., also at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday - March 11, 2008 at the Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie, Ky. Interment will follow in the Morgan-Collins Cemetery at Stinnett, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. The following will serve as pallbearers: Tim Collett, Chris Smith, Wayne Smith, Johnny D. Collins, Joe Caldwell, Bo Collins ans Aaron Whitehead.
