The Obituary of Mr. Fred Wilson Officiating Ministers: Rev. Chuck Jack, Rev. Larry Toner, Rev. Stanley Wilson Rev. Steve Wilson Mr. Fred Wilson born March 7, 1914 departed this life on February 13, 2008 at the the Harlan Nursing Home, Harlan, Ky., at the age of 93 years, 11 months, and 6 days old.Fred was born at Helton, Ky., the son of the late Ewell Wilson and Susie Brock. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Dept. of Highways and was a former heavy equipment operator for Ritter Lumber Co. Fred was a charter member of the Upper Beech Fork United Methodist Church & was very active in the church throughout his life. He served as head trustee of the church donating many hours of time and labor. Fred did the original excavation work at the present site of the church. He enjoyed gardening and canning with his wife, Parlie, and always donated a large portion of this to family, friends, and neighbors. Fred was a life-long resident of Helton, Ky., residing at 1158 Hwy. # 2058, Helton, Ky., at the time of his death. Mr. Fred Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell Wilson and Susie Brock Wilson, his wife, Parlie Gross Wilson, two brothers, Floyd Wilson & Peter Wilson, one sister, Virgie Wilson, one half-brother, Creed Wilson, one half-sister, Helen Wilson, Son-In-Law: Richard Smith. Mr. Fred Wilson leaves the following relatives surviving: One Daughter: Remona Sherryl Wilson Smith of Helton, KY One Granddaughter Tamara Weldon of Helton, KY Three Great Grandchildren: Brandon Weldon, Brittany Weldon and Brooke Weldon He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Fred Wilson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, Kentucky with Rev. Chuck Jack, Rev. Larry Toner, Rev. Stanley Wilson and Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. The interment will be at 12:00 Noon Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Resthaven Cemetery located at Loyall, Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff. The following served as pallbearers: Brandon Weldon, Charles Edward Wilson, Waldo Simpson, Larry Fultz, Todd Howard, Tim Weldon, David North, Brain Wilson & Lehman Wilson.
