Margaret Gail Smallwood, of Essie, KY., was born on May 11, 1949 in Hyden, KY., the daughter of the late Wallace Woods & Ora Osborne Woods. She passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 at her residence at the age of 66. Margaret was a life-long resident of Leslie County, by occupation she was a former employee for Mary Breckinridge Hospital, Couch's Shell Mart & was presently employed at the Red Light Cafe' in Hyden as a cook. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family & cooking.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Herbert Jr. Woods, Raymond Salyers & Roscoe Salyers, 1 sister, Ann Elizabeth Jones & sister-in-law, Lula Salyers. 

She is survived by her loving & devoted husband, Virgil Smallwood, Essie, KY.,1 son, Tracey Lee Smallwood & Mary, Hyden, KY., 2 daughters, Melissa Taylor & Kenny, Stinnett, KY. & Selina Farmer & Mike, Hyden, KY.,2  adopted children, Cailyn Gail Smallwood & Joshua Lee Smallwood, 3 brothers, John Henry Salyers, Bear Branch, KY., Billy Ray Salyers & Wilma, Hyden, KY. & Estill Lee Woods & Carol Sue, Stinnett, KY., 4  sisters, Ruth Collins & Clyde, Hyden, KY., Janie Collins & James Harold, Dayton, Ohio & Alice Brown & Rev. Carl, Oneida, KY. & Francine Caldwell & Boone, Stinnett, KY., sister-in-laws, Leda Salyers & Sophie Woods, 4 grandchildren, Tyler Tracey, Whitney, Latoya, Tyler, 5 great-grandchildren, Aleeah, Zack, Rylan, ColtLee & Rosalena, also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Monday , January 25, 2016 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden KY.
