France Collett

Mr. France Collett of Essie, KY., was born on May 20, 1943 at Essie, KY., the son of the late, Bentley Collett & the late, Nancy Roark Collett. He passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. at the age of 74. France had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Bowens Creek Baptist Church at Essie, KY. France enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, masonry work, hunting, fishing & gardening. 

France was preceded in death by his parents, loving & devoted wife, Retha Griffith Collett & 2 sisters, Betty & Ruth. He leaves the following relatives surviving, 4 sons, Steven Collett, Essie, KY., Alvin Collett & Amy, Fancy Gap, VA., Marvin Collett & Gina, Corbin, KY. & Bonnell "Bo" Collett & Jacquline, Bear Branch, KY., 2 daughters, Julie Kinney & Shane, Woodlawn, VA. & Zandra Asher & Hershel Joey, Wilmington, OH., 1 brother, Alvin Collett & Pansy, Mozelle, KY., 1 sister, Joan Barrett & Ulysses, Essie, KY., 17 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.

Thursday, June 29, 2017 @ 1:00 P.M. at the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church, Essie, KY.
