Mary Gross Maggard

Mrs. Mary Gross Maggard departed this life on Saturday-October 28, 2017 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. She was born December 15, 1929 at Wolfe Creek (Yeaddiss), KY the daughter of the late Rev. John L. Gross and the late Maggie Joseph Gross. Mary was a store operator having worked in the family owned grocery store. Mary was a life long resident of Leslie County and was a dedicated member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Yeaddiss, KY. She enjoyed working outside in her flower garden, keeping her house, & especially spending time with her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents: John L. & Maggie Jospeh Gross  loving an devoted husband: Omer Maggard to whom she was united in marriage  July 10, 1948,  beloved son -in - law, Doug Melton, Five brothers: Fariston, Willard, Dewey, Farmer and Denton; Five sisters: Cinda Lewis, Martha Boggs, Elsie Coots, Hattie Hendrix and Rebecca Jane Pennington,  She leaves surviving the following relatives: two beloved daughters: Phylliss Ann Johnson & Danny of Smilax, KY, Virginia Melton of Wooton, KY, one beloved son: Carl Wayne Maggard of Corbin, KY, five treasured grandchildren: Carl Wayne Maggard, Jr., Kimberly Ann Cornett & Scott, Tanya Maggard Richter, Sherry Ann Fugate & Gerald, Candace Collett And Chris, thirteen treasured great-grandchildren; Christopher Douglas Maggard, Keaton Scott Richter, Makenna Jean Richter, Brandon Wayne Maggard, Miranda Maggard, Austin Blake Goins, Dylan Ray Fugate, Gavin Jayce Fugate, Gabriella Elise Melton, Chandler Wade Collett, Winston Cole Collett, Dalton Scott Cornett, Haley Nicole Conley & Ryne, one treasured great, great, grandchildren; Duncan Carter Conley & a host of other relatives and friend.
