Pearlie Lewis Ritchie

Pearlie Lewis Ritchie, better known as “Mother” age 77 of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home.
She was born October 21, 1940 in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Covie and Cinda (Gross) Lewis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, James Lewis, and sisters, Justine Turner and Maria Joseph.
Surviving family include her sons, Hobert Turner, Jr. and wife, Jenny, of Hyden, Kentucky, and Clayton Turner, also of Hyden; daughters, Brenda Caldwell and fiancé, Johnny Meadows, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Lynn Roberts and husband, Jeffrey, of Stearns, Kentucky; a brother, Steve Lewis of Bristol, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kristy Hunley and husband, Derrick, Bryan Caldwell and fiancé, Mary-Beth Lewis, Travis Turner and wife, Renee, Joey Turner and wife, Beth, Melanie Hubbard and husband, David, Blake Keith, Kyle Stephens, Ben Keith, Brad Keith, Crystal Smith and husband, Chris, Mary Shepherd and husband, Marty, and Phillip Turner; and several great-grandchildren.
Mother Pearl was a longtime member of the Whitley City Church of God. In past time she worked as a CNA caring for others while continuing her home duties as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, taking trips and vacations. Pearl enjoyed many things in her life, but nothing compared to the love she had for her family, especially her grandbabies.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 until service time.
Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Whitley City Church of God Cemetery.
