Edna Mae Shepherd, 61, of Echols passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Cutshin, Kentucky on January 23, 1956 to the late Sim and Oma Coots Mitchell. Mrs. Shepherd was a homemaker and loved spending time with family and friends.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Margarine Sizemore, Mallie Joseph and Nadine Holstine.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Lowell Jack Shepherd; children, Edna “Marie” Shepherd, Jacqueline “Ladonna” Steele, Jack “Dwayne” (Jessica)Shepherd and Lowell “Jason” (Stacy) Shepherd all of Ohio County; grandchildren, Skyler Steele, Austin Steele, Laci Minton, Jasmine Steele, Arron Shepherd, Eli Shepherd, Isaiah Shepherd, and Jack-Elliott Shepherd; seven brothers, Elmer Mitchell of Florence, Kentucky, Wilmer (Pauline)  Mitchell of Camden, Ohio, Jimmy (Maxine)  Mitchell and Danny (Glenda)Mitchell both of Yeaddiss, Kentucky, Timmy (Nannie) Mitchell of Thousandsticks, Kentucky, Michael Mitchell of Hazard, Kentucky, and Stanley (Barbara) Mitchell of Smilax, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Johnny Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery in Echols, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Shepherd’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
