Leona Bowling

Mrs. Leona Bowling born October 5, 1925 departed this life on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at  Laurel Creek Health Care, Manchester, Ky. She was 92 years old.  Leona was born at Bowlingtown, Ky in Perry Co., the daughter of the late Joseph Burton and Sally Bowling.  Leona moved to Peabody, Ky in Clay Co. in the 1950's and had been a resident of Clay Co. since then.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Leona was of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Sally Bowling Burton, loving and devoted husband; Woolery Bowling on August 20, 2016, sister; Lorene Turner & brother; Forester Bowling.  Mrs. Leona Bowling leaves the following relatives surviving: beloved sons; James Bowling of Manchester, Ky.,  Joseph Bowling & wife, Bobbie of Manchester, Ky., Woolery Jr. Bowling & wife, Lisa of London, Ky., Jason Bowling of Peabody, Ky., Jackie Bowling and wife, Sharon K. of Fishtrap, Ky., beloved daughters; Janice Whited and husband, Dwight, of Stanford, Ky., Joanie Gooch & husband, James of Kings Mountain, Ky., sister; Katherine Bowling of Manchester, Ky., 19 treasured grandchildren, 36 treasured great-grandchildren, & 3 treasured great, great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
