Mrs. Mildred Jean Melton Bowling passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. at the age of 79. Mildred was born March 30, 1939 in Leslie Co., KY., the daughter of the late, Manuel & June Hensley Melton. She had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. Mildred was a member of the McIntosh Baptist Church at Wooton, kY. She enjoyed shopping, camping & spending time with her family.
Mildred was preceded in death by parents, loving & devoted husband, Jay Bowling, one beloved son, Mark Bowling, three treasured granddaughters, Jessica Bowling, Terena Caldwell & Chelsie Hoskins, one treasured great-granddaughter, Tia Faye, four brothers, Ronnie, Larry, Sonny & Ricky Melton & one sister, Betty. She leaves the following relatives surviving, one beloved son, Michael Joe Bowling (Rita) of Stinnett, KY., same as a son, Jack Hacker, Wooton, KY., four beloved daughters, Gail Turner (Bill) of Hyden, KY., Teresa Bowling of Wooton, KY., Tammy Kilburn (Tim) of Wooton, KY. & Karen Kilburn (Tom) of Wooton, KY., one daughter-in-law, Paula Cornett, 12 treasured grandchildren, Shannon Turner (Libby), Neil Turner (Felicia), Paul Turner (LeeAnne), Byron Turner (Leslie), Nikki Roberts (Randy), Beth Turner (Joey), Tamara Maggard (Dustin), Kimberly Begley (Keith), Tyler Kilburn , Markena Kilburn, Brent Bowling (Brooke) & Brandon Bowling (Ashley), 14 treasured great-grandchildren, Sidney, Taylor, Jay, Hailey, Hunter, Tess, Corey, Casey, Trevor, Nathanael, Jeslyn, Rylen, Maddox & Myles, three brothers, Edd Melton (Sue), of Clay Co., KY., Donnie Melton (Sandra) of Smilax, KY. & Glen Melton (Linda) of Sizerock, KY., two sisters, Prudy Stewart (Reed) of Jeremiah, KY. & Deborah Pratt of London, KY. & a special niece & caregiver, Christy Asher. Also a host of nieces, nephews other relatives & friends survive.
